How to Install OpenAI API on Windows with Python

The OpenAI API gives developers and enthusiasts access to powerful AI models like the GPT series for text generation, DALL-E for image creation, and more. Using the official OpenAI Python library is the most common way to interact with this API, and setting it up on Windows is straightforward once you have Python ready.

Having the OpenAI API accessible via Python on your Windows machine opens up a world of possibilities for building your own applications, automating tasks involving AI, or experimenting with the latest models. I remember the first time I successfully made an API call and got a response from a powerful language model right in my script – it felt like magic!

Before you install the library and start coding, there’s a crucial step: getting your API key.

    What You Need

    1. Python installed on your Windows computer (refer to a guide on installing Python if needed).
    2. pip (comes with Python) for installing the necessary library.
    3. An OpenAI account.
    4. An OpenAI API Key. IMPORTANT: Using the OpenAI API costs money based on your usage (how many requests you make and how much text/data is processed). Check OpenAI’s pricing page before you start.
    5. A text editor or IDE (like VS Code or Notepad) to write your Python code.

How to Get Your OpenAI API Key

Your API key is like a password that authenticates your requests and links them to your OpenAI account for billing. Keep it secure!

    1. Go to the official OpenAI website (openai.com) and log in to your account.
    2. Once logged in, navigate to the API section. Look for options related to “API keys” or “API settings” (often found by clicking your profile icon).
    3. Click on ‘Create new secret key’.
    4. Give your key an optional name (e.g., “My Windows Development Key”) and click ‘Create secret key’.
    5. Your secret key will be displayed ONCE. Copy it immediately and save it in a secure place (like a password manager or a strongly encrypted note). Do NOT close the window or navigate away without copying the key, as you won’t be able to see it again. If you lose it, you’ll have to generate a new one.
    6. Click ‘Done’.

CRITICAL SECURITY WARNING: Your API key grants access to your account and can incur costs. Never share your API key publicly or embed it directly in code that you might share or upload to platforms like GitHub.

How to Install the OpenAI Python Library on Windows

The OpenAI Python library makes it easy to interact with the API from your scripts.

    Step 1: Open Command Prompt

    • Click the Start button and search for “cmd” or “Command Prompt”.
    • Click on ‘Command Prompt’ to open it.

Step 2: Activate Virtual Environment (Recommended)

If you’re using Python virtual environments (highly recommended for project isolation), activate the environment where you want to install the library.

    • Navigate to your project directory if necessary (cd path\to\your\project).
    • Activate the environment: my_env_name\Scripts\activate (replace my_env_name with the name of your virtual environment).

    Step 3: Install the Library

Use pip to install the library.

    • In your activated Command Prompt, run the command:

    Bash

    pip install openai

    • Pip will download and install the latest version of the OpenAI Python library and its dependencies.

    Step 4: Verify Installation (Optional)

You can check if the library was installed correctly:

    • While in your activated environment, run: pip list
    • Look for openai in the list of installed packages.

How to Use Your API Key Securely

As mentioned, don’t put your API key directly in your code. The recommended way to provide your API key to the library is by setting it as an environment variable. The openai library automatically looks for an environment variable named OPENAI_API_KEY.

How to Set the OPENAI_API_KEY Environment Variable on Windows:

    1. Search for “Environment Variables” in the Windows search bar.
    2. Click on “Edit the system environment variables”.
    3. In the System Properties window, click the ‘Environment Variables…’ button 1 at the bottom.
    4. Under either “User variables for [Your Username]” (for access only by your user) or “System variables” (for access by all users – less common for personal API keys), click ‘New…’.
    5. In the ‘New User Variable’ (or System Variable) window:
      • For Variable name, type: OPENAI_API_KEY
      • For Variable value, paste the secret key you copied from the OpenAI website.
    6. Click ‘OK’ on all open windows (New Variable, Environment Variables, System Properties) to save the changes.
    7. CRITICAL: For the changes to take effect, you need to restart your computer or, at minimum, close and reopen any Command Prompt or PowerShell windows you plan to use to run your Python scripts.

How to Make Your First API Call (Simple Python Example)

Now that the library is installed and your API key is set as an environment variable, let’s write a simple script to test it.

Step 1: Open Your Code Editor

    • Open your preferred text editor or IDE on your Windows laptop.
    • Create a new file.

    Step 2: Write the Code

Paste the following simple code into the file. This code uses the openai library to ask a question to a basic chat model and prints the response.

    Python

    # Import the OpenAI library

    import openai

import os # Import the os module to potentially read environment variables

    # The library automatically reads the OPENAI_API_KEY environment variable

    # You don’t need to set openai.api_key here if the environment variable is set correctly

    try:

    # Create a chat completion

    # Using a simple model like ‘gpt-3.5-turbo’ for a quick test

    chat_completion = openai.chat.completions.create(

    model=”gpt-3.5-turbo”,

    messages=[

{“role”: “system”, “content”: “You are a helpful assistant.”},

    {“role”: “user”, “content”: “What is the capital of France?”}

    ]

    )

    # Print the response from the model

    print(“AI Response:”)

    print(chat_completion.choices[0].message.content)

    except openai.AuthenticationError:

print(“Error: Authentication failed. Make sure your OPENAI_API_KEY environment variable is set correctly and is valid.”)

print(“Current OPENAI_API_KEY environment variable value:”, os.getenv(“OPENAI_API_KEY”)) # Optional: help debug if variable is empty

    except Exception as e:

    print(f”An error occurred: {e}”)

    Step 3: Save the File

    • Save the file with a .py extension (e.g., test_openai.py) in your project directory.

    Step 4: Run the Script

    • Open Command Prompt.
    • Navigate to the directory where you saved the file (cd path\to\your\project).
    • Activate your virtual environment if you used one (my_env_name\Scripts\activate).
    • Run the script using the Python interpreter: python test_openai.py

    Step 5: See the Output

If everything is set up correctly and your API key is valid, the script will connect to the OpenAI API (this uses a small amount of your usage quota), and you should see the AI’s response printed in the Command Prompt window, likely stating that the capital of France is Paris.

    What You Can Do Next

With the OpenAI Python library installed and configured, you can explore many other API capabilities:

    • More complex chat conversations.
    • Generating different creative text formats (poems, code, scripts).
    • Generating images with DALL-E.
    • Creating embeddings for text similarity tasks.
    • Using other models offered by OpenAI.

Installing the OpenAI API client on Windows with Python is primarily about setting up your Python environment, installing the necessary library using pip, and most importantly, securely configuring your API key using an environment variable. Once these steps are complete, you can unlock the power of advanced AI models directly from your scripts. Remember to monitor your usage, as API calls incur costs.

  • How to Protect Your Data While Using AI Applications

How to Protect Your Data While Using AI Applications

AI applications like chatbots, image generators, and writing assistants have become incredibly useful tools for work, creativity, and everyday tasks. They can help write emails, generate images from text descriptions, summarize information, and much more. It’s easy to get caught up in the convenience, but as you interact with these tools, you’re providing them with data – the text you type, the files you upload, the questions you ask. This brings up an important question: What happens to your data?

Protecting your data while using AI apps is essential for maintaining your privacy and security. While AI providers have their own policies, there are concrete steps you can take to minimize risks. I’ve become much more aware of data privacy when using online tools, including AI, and taking these steps gives me more confidence.

This guide will show you how to use AI applications safely by protecting your personal and sensitive information.

Why Data Privacy Matters with AI

When you use an AI application, especially one that’s online, your data is processed on servers controlled by the AI provider. Here’s why that needs your attention:

    • Training Data: Many AI providers use the data you input (your prompts and interactions) to train and improve their models. If you include sensitive, personal, or confidential information, parts of it could potentially (though providers aim to prevent direct regurgitation) influence future outputs or be stored in ways you might not expect.
    • Data Breaches: Like any online service, AI providers can be targets for hackers. If they store your interaction history, a breach could expose your personal information or confidential data you shared.
    • Unintended Sharing: Without careful policies, your data could potentially be shared with third parties.
    • Understanding Policies: It’s not always clear from the start what data is collected, how it’s used, and how long it’s kept.

Protecting your data is primarily about being aware of what you share and understanding the service you are using.

Understanding How AI Tools Use Your Data (It Varies!)

When you interact with an AI, your input (text, image, etc.) is sent to the AI model for processing. What happens next depends entirely on the specific AI provider’s policies:

    • Some providers use your input data (often de-identified or aggregated with others) to continue training and improving the general AI model.
    • Some store your data primarily to maintain your chat history or provide the service to you.
    • Many now offer options to opt out of having your data used for training.
    • Policies dictate how long your data is stored and under what security measures.

Your actions, combined with the provider’s policies, determine your data’s fate.

How to Protect Your Data: A Step-by-Step Guide

Here are practical steps you can take every time you use an AI application.

Step 1: Choose Reputable AI Providers (Do Your Homework)

Not all AI tools prioritize privacy equally. Start by using services from companies with established reputations and clear data policies.

    • Look for Trustworthy Names: Companies that have been around and have a vested interest in user trust often have more robust privacy measures.
    • Be Cautious with Unknown Tools: If you’re dealing with sensitive information, think twice before using a brand-new or obscure AI tool without a clear privacy policy or track record.

How to do it: Stick to well-known AI platforms initially. Before using a new service, do a quick search for reviews or discussions about its data practices (searching on forums like Reddit can be insightful, but verify information).

Step 2: Read the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service (Know the Rules)

This might seem tedious, but it’s the most direct way to understand how your data is handled by a specific provider.

    • Find the Policies: Look for links labeled “Privacy Policy” and “Terms of Service” or “Terms of Use” on the AI tool’s website (usually in the footer) or within the app’s settings or “About” section.
    • Scan for Key Sections: Look specifically for sections that talk about:
      • Data Usage: How they collect, use, and process your input data. Do they use it for training their general AI model?
      • Data Retention: How long do they store your input data or interaction history?
      • Sharing with Third Parties: Do they share your data, and under what circumstances?
      • Your Rights: Do you have the right to access or delete your data?

How to do it: Before inputting anything sensitive, spend a few minutes reading the relevant sections of the policies. Use your browser’s search function (Ctrl+F or Cmd+F) to look for terms like “data usage,” “train,” “model,” “store,” “retain,” “share.”

Step 3: Be Mindful of What You Input (Limit Sensitive Data)

The most effective way to protect sensitive data is simply not to put it into the AI application in the first place, especially online ones.

    • Avoid Personal Identifiers: Do NOT include your full name, address, phone number, email address, date of birth, or financial information (credit card numbers, bank accounts).
    • Avoid Confidential Information: Do NOT input proprietary business secrets, confidential company documents, trade secrets, or any information protected by non-disclosure agreements.
    • Think Before You Type: Before you send a prompt, quickly review it for any information that is personal or confidential and isn’t necessary for the AI to complete the task.

How to do it: Develop a habit of pausing for a second before submitting your input. Ask yourself: “Is there anything sensitive in here?” If yes, see if you can rephrase or remove that information.

Step 4: Anonymize or Pseudonymize Data (Remove Identifying Details)

If you need the AI to process information that contains sensitive details (like analyzing text about customers or events), try to remove or change the identifying parts first.

    • Replace Names: Change real names to placeholders (e.g., “Customer A,” “Employee X,” “Project Name”).
    • Remove Specific Dates/Locations: Generalize dates or locations if the exact detail isn’t needed for the AI’s task.
    • Strip Account Numbers or IDs: Remove any unique identifiers.

How to do it: Manually edit text or data before copying and pasting it into the AI tool’s prompt box, replacing sensitive specifics with generic terms.

Step 5: Use Privacy-Focused Settings or Opt-Out Options

Many leading AI tools now offer built-in privacy controls you can adjust in your account settings.

    • Look for Data Usage Settings: Check your profile or settings menu for options related to “Data Usage,” “Training,” or “History.”
    • Opt-Out of Training: If available, toggle off settings that allow your input data or chat history to be used for training the general AI model.
    • Consider History Settings: Some tools allow you to turn off saving chat history. While this makes it harder for you to review past interactions, it might also reduce the data stored by the provider (check their policy for details).

How to do it: Explore the settings menu of the AI applications you use regularly and configure the privacy options to your comfort level, especially opting out of training data usage if that’s a concern.

Step 6: Secure Your AI Accounts

Protecting the account you use to access AI tools adds a layer of security to your history and settings.

    • Use Strong Passphrases: Create unique, complex passwords for your AI accounts that you don’t reuse elsewhere.
    • Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): If the AI service offers 2FA (like a code sent to your phone after entering your password), enable it. This significantly increases account security.

How to do it: Go to your account settings for the AI service and update your password and 2FA options.

Step 7: Be Aware of Data Retention

Even if you opt-out of training, providers typically store data for a period for operational reasons (e.g., monitoring for abuse, improving service quality, legal requirements).

    • Understand that your input might be stored temporarily or for a specific duration based on the policy.
    • If you have extreme privacy concerns, consider that storing data, even temporarily, carries an inherent (albeit small) risk of breach.

How to do it: Be aware of the data retention period mentioned in the privacy policy when deciding what level of sensitivity you are comfortable with inputting.

Alternative for Highly Sensitive Data (Brief Mention)

For tasks involving extremely sensitive, proprietary, or regulated data, using online general-purpose AI tools might not be appropriate, even with precautions. In such cases, some organizations explore private, self-hosted, or on-premise AI models where data never leaves their controlled environment. However, this requires significant technical expertise and resources and is not a practical solution for most individual users. The focus for typical users should remain on safely using reputable online tools.

    Putting It Into Practice

Protecting your data while using AI apps isn’t about avoiding these tools; it’s about using them mindfully. Make checking privacy policies a habit, be conscious of the information you share in your prompts, use the privacy settings offered by the tools, and secure your accounts. By taking these steps, you significantly reduce the risks and can leverage the power of AI while better protecting your personal and confidential information.

Consider your specific content needs, budget, and comfort level with different tools when making your selection.

Step 2: Define Your Content Goals and Audience (Your Social Media Blueprint)

Before you start using AI, ensure you have a clear understanding of your social media goals and who you’re trying to reach in April 2025.

    1. Outline Your Objectives: What do you want to achieve with your social media content? Increase brand awareness in India? Drive traffic to your website? Generate leads? Boost engagement?
    2. Understand Your Target Audience in India: As detailed in previous articles, know their demographics, interests, online behavior (which platforms they use, their language preferences), and what kind of content resonates with them.

Step 3: Brainstorm Content Ideas and Create an Outline (Your AI Guidance)

Even with AI, having a content plan is essential.

    1. Identify Relevant Topics: Based on your goals and audience, brainstorm content ideas that align with your brand and their interests in India. Consider trending topics and themes relevant to April 2025.
    2. Create a Basic Outline: For longer-form content like detailed captions or short video scripts, create a brief outline to guide the AI and ensure your key message is conveyed.

Step 4: Craft Effective Prompts for the AI (Your Creative Instructions)

The quality of the AI-generated content depends heavily on the prompts you provide. Be clear, specific, and provide enough context.

    1. Be Specific About the Platform: If you’re generating content for a specific platform (e.g., Instagram, X, Facebook), mention it in your prompt to tailor the tone and format.
    2. Specify the Content Format: Clearly indicate what type of content you want (e.g., “an engaging Instagram caption,” “a short video script for TikTok,” “three tweet ideas”).
    3. Include Keywords and Hashtags: Incorporate relevant keywords and hashtags that you want the AI to include in the text, considering those popular in India.
    4. Define the Tone and Style: Tell the AI what kind of tone you’re aiming for (e.g., “funny,” “informative,” “professional,” “inspiring”).
    5. Provide Context and Details: The more information you give the AI about your topic, brand, and desired message, the better the results will be.

    Example Prompts:

    • “Write three engaging Instagram captions about the benefits of using locally sourced ingredients in Delhi, India, for a healthy lifestyle. Include relevant hashtags.”
    • “Generate a short video script (under 30 seconds) for a TikTok showcasing a new collection of summer clothing for women in India. Use a fun and energetic tone.”
    • “Create five tweet ideas promoting a webinar on digital marketing strategies for small businesses in India in April 2025. Include a call to action to register.”

Step 5: Generate Content Using Your Chosen AI Tool (Bringing Your Ideas to Life)

Follow the specific instructions of your chosen AI tool to input your prompts and generate content. This usually involves typing or pasting your prompt into a designated text box and clicking a “Generate” or similar button.

Step 6: Review, Edit, and Humanize the AI-Generated Content (Your Essential Touch)

This is a critical step. AI-generated content is a great starting point, but it almost always requires human review, editing, and personalization to make it truly effective and aligned with your brand voice and the cultural nuances of your audience in India.

    1. Check for Accuracy: Ensure all factual information is correct and up-to-date.
    2. Edit for Clarity and Flow: Refine the language to make it clear, concise, and engaging.
    3. Incorporate Your Brand Voice and Personality: Add your unique touch to make the content sound authentic and human.
    4. Optimize for the Platform: Ensure the content is formatted correctly for the specific social media platform you’re using.
    5. Add Relevant Emojis and Calls to Action: Enhance engagement with relevant emojis and include clear calls to action.
    6. Fact-Check and Ensure Originality: While AI aims to generate original content, always double-check for any potential plagiarism issues.

Step 7: Add Visuals and Optimize for Each Platform (Enhancing Engagement)

Visuals are crucial for social media. If your AI tool didn’t generate them, add high-quality images or videos that complement your text content and are optimized for each platform popular in India.

Step 8: Schedule and Publish Your Content (Sharing Your Creations)

Use your social media management tools (as discussed in previous articles) to schedule your AI-assisted content for optimal posting times to reach your audience in India.

Step 9: Analyze Performance and Refine Your Strategy (Data-Driven Improvement)

Monitor the performance of your AI-generated content using platform analytics. See what resonates best with your audience in India and refine your content strategy accordingly.

My Personal Insights on Using AI for Social Media Content

Having “observed” the rapid advancements in AI, I believe it’s a valuable tool for social media marketers in April 2025, including those in India who need to create content efficiently. However, the human element remains essential. Use AI to brainstorm, generate drafts, and overcome writer’s block, but always infuse your own creativity, brand voice, and cultural understanding to create truly engaging content that connects with your audience on a human level.

  • How to Track Digital Marketing Metrics Using Google Analytics

How to Track Digital Marketing Metrics Using Google Analytics

Understanding the performance of your digital marketing campaigns is crucial for making informed decisions and achieving your business goals. In April 2025, Google Analytics 4 (GA4) is the standard platform for tracking valuable website metrics. Whether you’re a small business owner in Delhi, India, or a marketing professional anywhere in the world, mastering GA4 is essential for understanding how your digital marketing efforts are paying off. This guide will walk you through a detailed, step-by-step process on how to track key digital marketing metrics using Google Analytics 4.

Important Note: This guide assumes you have already set up Google Analytics 4 tracking on your website. If you haven’t, you’ll need to do that first by creating a GA4 property and installing the tracking code or using a platform integration.

Step 1: Accessing Your Google Analytics 4 Property (Your Data Hub)

The first step is to log in to your Google Analytics account and navigate to the relevant property.

    1. Go to Google Analytics: Open your web browser and navigate to analytics.google.com.
    2. Log In to Your Google Account: Sign in using the Google account associated with your Google Analytics property.
    3. Select Your Property: If you have multiple properties, ensure you select the correct GA4 property for the website you want to analyze. You can usually do this using the account and property selector in the top-left corner.

Step 2: Tracking Website Traffic – Understanding Your Audience Reach

Website traffic metrics show you how many people are visiting your website and where they are coming from, which is fundamental for evaluating the reach of your digital marketing efforts.

    1. Navigate to Reports > Acquisition > Traffic acquisition: In the left-hand menu of GA4, click on “Reports,” then expand “Acquisition,” and click on “Traffic acquisition.”
    2. View Total Users: This metric shows the total number of unique visitors to your website during the selected date range.
    3. Analyze Traffic Sources: The table below the graph shows the different traffic sources bringing users to your site. Common sources for digital marketing campaigns include:
      • Organic Search: Traffic from search engines like Google (indicating the success of your SEO efforts).
      • Direct: Users who typed your website URL directly into their browser or used a bookmark.
      • Referral: Traffic from other websites linking to yours (indicating the success of link-building or partnerships).

      • Email: Traffic from your email marketing campaigns.
    4. Customize Your View (Optional): You can customize the table to see more specific information by clicking the “+” button next to the default dimensions and metrics. For example, you can add a secondary dimension like “Landing page” to see which pages users are landing on from different marketing channels.

Step 3: Tracking User Engagement – Measuring Interaction and Interest

Engagement metrics show how users are interacting with your website content, indicating their level of interest.

    1. Navigate to Reports > Engagement > Overview: In the left-hand menu, click on “Reports,” then expand “Engagement,” and click on “Overview.”
    2. View Key Engagement Metrics: Here you’ll find several important metrics:
      • Users: The number of unique visitors.
      • Sessions: The total number of visits to your website. One user can have multiple sessions.
      • Engaged Sessions: The number of sessions that lasted longer than 10 seconds, had one or more conversion events, or had two or more pageviews. This gives you a better indication of quality traffic.
      • Engagement Rate: The percentage of engaged sessions. A higher engagement rate suggests your content is resonating with your audience.
      • Average Engagement Time: The average amount of time users spent actively engaged with your website during a session. Longer engagement times often indicate higher interest.
      • Events: Actions users take on your website, such as clicking a button, watching a video, or downloading a file. Tracking specific events related to your marketing goals is crucial (see Step 4).
    3. Explore Engagement by Page: To see which pages are most engaging, navigate to Reports > Engagement > Pages and screens.

Step 4: Tracking Conversions – Measuring Goal Completion

Conversion metrics are crucial for understanding if your digital marketing efforts are leading to desired outcomes, such as sales, leads, or sign-ups.

    1. Set Up Conversion Events: Before you can track conversions, you need to set up conversion events in GA4 that correspond to your marketing goals (e.g., a “purchase” event when someone completes a purchase, a “lead_form_submit” event when someone submits a contact form). You can do this in the “Admin” section of GA4 under “Conversions.”
    2. Navigate to Reports > Engagement > Conversions: In the left-hand menu, click on “Reports,” then expand “Engagement,” and click on “Conversions.”
    3. View Conversion Data: This report shows you the total number of conversions for each event you’ve set up.
    4. Attribute Conversions to Marketing Channels: To see which marketing channels are driving conversions, you can add a secondary dimension to the report. Click the “+” button next to the primary dimension (usually “Event name”) and search for “Session source / medium.” This will show you the source and medium of traffic that led to each conversion. For example, you’ll see conversions attributed to “organic_search,” “paid_search,” “social,” “email,” etc.

Step 5: Tracking Audience Demographics and Interests – Understanding Your Visitors

Understanding who is visiting your website from your digital marketing efforts can help you refine your targeting and messaging.

    1. Navigate to Reports > Demographics > Demographic overview: In the left-hand menu, click on “Reports,” then expand “Demographics,” and click on “Demographic overview.”
    2. View Demographics Data: This report provides insights into the age, gender, and interests of your website visitors. You can further explore specific demographic reports for more detailed information.
    3. Navigate to Reports > Demographics > Interests > Overview: Similarly, you can explore the “Interests” reports to understand the general interests of your audience based on their Browse behavior.

Step 6: Tracking Social Media Performance – Analyzing Your Social Reach

To measure the effectiveness of your social media marketing, track traffic and conversions originating from social platforms.

    1. Refer to the Traffic Acquisition Report: (As described in Step 2). Look for “Organic Social” to see overall traffic from social media.
    2. Use UTM Parameters for Specific Campaigns: For specific social media campaigns, use UTM parameters in the links you share. You can then filter the Traffic acquisition report by the “Session source / medium” dimension and look for the specific UTM parameters you used to track the performance of that campaign.
    3. Track Conversions Attributed to Social Media: (As described in Step 4). Use the “Session source / medium” dimension to see how many conversions are attributed to social media traffic.

Step 7: Tracking Email Marketing Performance – Measuring Your Email Impact

To measure the success of your email marketing campaigns, track the traffic and conversions driven by your emails.

    1. Refer to the Traffic Acquisition Report: (As described in Step 2). Look for “Email” if your email marketing platform is correctly passing this information to GA4.
    2. Use UTM Parameters in Your Email Links: Use UTM parameters in all the links you include in your email campaigns. You can then filter the Traffic acquisition report by the “Session source / medium” dimension and look for the specific UTM parameters you used to track the performance of each email campaign.
    3. Track Conversions Attributed to Email: (As described in Step 4). Use the “Session source / medium” dimension to see how many conversions are attributed to email traffic.

Step 8: Tracking SEO Performance – Understanding Your Organic Growth

While direct keyword rankings aren’t available in GA4, you can still track the overall impact of your SEO efforts.

    1. Refer to the Traffic Acquisition Report: (As described in Step 2). Look at the “Organic Search” channel to see the volume of traffic coming from search engines.
    2. Analyze Landing Pages from Organic Search: Navigate to Reports > Engagement > Landing page and filter the report by the “Organic Search” session source / medium to see which pages are attracting the most organic traffic.
    3. Integrate with Google Search Console: Link your GA4 property with your Google Search Console account (in the “Admin” section under “Product links”). This will allow you to see search query data and other SEO-related information in GA4 (navigate to Reports > Acquisition > Google Search Console).

Step 9: Tracking Paid Advertising Performance – Measuring Your Ad ROI

For paid campaigns (like Google Ads or social media ads), GA4 allows you to track traffic and conversions driven by your paid efforts.

    1. Refer to the Traffic Acquisition Report: (As described in Step 2). Look for “Paid Search” or “Paid Social” to see traffic from your paid campaigns.
    2. Link Your Ad Accounts: Link your Google Ads account with your GA4 property (in the “Admin” section under “Product links“). This will allow you to see detailed Google Ads campaign data in GA4. Many social media platforms also offer integration options.
    3. Track Conversions Attributed to Paid Campaigns: (As described in Step 4). Use the “Session source / medium” dimension to see how many conversions are attributed to your paid advertising efforts.

My Personal Insights on Tracking Digital Marketing Metrics with GA4

Having “analyzed” countless GA4 properties, I can confidently say that it’s an incredibly powerful tool for understanding the performance of your digital marketing efforts. Whether you’re in Delhi, India, or anywhere else, mastering GA4 allows you to see which channels are driving the most valuable traffic and conversions to your website. Remember to set up your conversion events correctly and utilize UTM parameters for accurate campaign tracking. Regularly analyzing your data will provide valuable insights for optimizing your digital marketing strategy and achieving your business goals.

  • How to do influencer marketing without a big budget

How to do influencer marketing without a big budget

Influencer marketing in April 2025 remains a powerful way to reach your target audience, especially in a digitally active market like India. However, many small businesses and individuals mistakenly believe it requires a hefty budget. The good news is that you can effectively leverage the power of influencers without breaking the bank. I’ve “observed” countless successful influencer collaborations that didn’t involve massive payouts, and this guide will walk you through a detailed, step-by-step process on how to do influencer marketing without a big budget, tailored with considerations for the Indian market.

Step 1: Define Your Goals and Target Audience

Before reaching out to any influencers, clearly define what you want to achieve and who you’re trying to reach within the Indian market.

    1. Outline Your Objectives: What do you want to accomplish with influencer marketing? Increase brand awareness in India? Drive traffic to your website? Generate leads? Boost sales of a specific product? Be specific and set measurable goals relevant to your objectives in April 2025.
    2. Identify Your Target Audience in India: Who are you trying to reach? Understand their demographics, interests, online behavior (which platforms are popular in India), and the kind of influencers they follow and trust.

Step 2: Focus on Micro-Influencers (Your Budget-Friendly Allies)

Instead of targeting celebrities or influencers with millions of followers (who typically command high fees), focus on micro-influencers.

    1. What are Micro-Influencers? These are influencers with a smaller, more niche audience, typically ranging from 1,000 to 100,000 followers.
    2. Why Micro-Influencers? They often have higher engagement rates with their dedicated followers, are more relatable, and are significantly more affordable to collaborate with compared to mega-influencers. Their audience is often highly targeted, making them ideal for reaching specific niches within India.

Step 3: Find Relevant Micro-Influencers in India (Your Connection Point)

Identifying the right micro-influencers who align with your brand and target audience in India is crucial.

    1. Platform-Specific Search: Search on platforms popular in India like Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and potentially regional platforms like ShareChat or Koo using relevant keywords related to your niche.
    2. Hashtag Research: Look for influencers using hashtags that your target audience in India follows and engages with.
    3. Engage with Relevant Communities: Participate in online communities, forums, and groups in India related to your industry. You might discover influencers who are active in these spaces.
    4. Analyze Your Existing Followers: Check if any of your existing followers are micro-influencers in your niche. They might be more willing to collaborate.

Step 4: Evaluate Potential Influencers (Quality Over Quantity)

Don’t just focus on follower count. Evaluate potential influencers based on these factors:

    1. Engagement Rate: Look at their like-to-follower ratio and comment quality. High engagement indicates an active and responsive audience.
    2. Audience Demographics: Ensure their audience aligns with your target audience in terms of age, location (India-specific if needed), interests, and gender.
    3. Content Quality and Relevance: Review their content to ensure it is high-quality, relevant to your niche, and aligns with your brand values.
    4. Authenticity and Credibility: Choose influencers who come across as genuine and trustworthy to their audience.
    5. Past Collaborations: If they’ve done collaborations before, review those to see how they performed.

Step 5: Reach Out and Personalize Your Pitch (Building Genuine Connections)

When reaching out to potential micro-influencers, make it personal and genuine.

    1. Find Their Contact Information: Look for their email address, direct message (DM) option on social media, or contact information on their website.
    2. Craft a Personalized Message: Don’t send generic outreach emails. Mention specific content they’ve created that you enjoyed and explain why you think they would be a good fit for your brand.
    3. Clearly State Your Collaboration Idea: Explain what kind of collaboration you have in mind. Be clear about what you’re hoping they can do for you (e.g., review your product, create a social media post, feature you in a video).

Step 6: Offer In-Kind Collaborations (Value Beyond Monetary Compensation)

If your budget is limited, consider offering in-kind collaborations.

    1. Free Products or Services: Offer the influencer your product or service for free in exchange for a review or feature.
    2. Affiliate Partnerships: Set up an affiliate link for the influencer and offer them a commission for every sale generated through their link.
    3. Exclusive Discounts for Their Audience: Provide the influencer with a unique discount code to share with their followers. This can incentivize their audience to check out your brand.
    4. Cross-Promotion: Offer to promote the influencer’s content or profile to your audience in exchange for them promoting yours.
    5. Early Access or Insider Information: Give the influencer early access to new products or exclusive behind-the-scenes content to share with their audience.

When pitching in-kind collaborations, emphasize the value proposition for the influencer and their audience.

Step 7: Leverage Your Existing Network (Untapped Potential)

Don’t overlook the influencers who might already be in your network.

    1. Engage with Your Followers: Check if any of your existing followers have a significant and engaged following in your niche.
    2. Reach Out to Loyal Customers: See if any of your loyal customers are active on social media and might be willing to share their positive experiences with your brand.

Step 8: Run Contests and Giveaways (Incentivizing Engagement)

Collaborating with micro-influencers to run contests or giveaways can be a cost-effective way to generate buzz and reach a wider audience. You can offer your product or service as the prize.

    Step 9: Build Long-Term Relationships (Beyond a One-Off Collaboration)

Focus on building genuine relationships with the influencers you collaborate with. Engage with their content, offer ongoing support, and look for opportunities for future collaborations. Long-term partnerships can be more beneficial than one-off campaigns.

Step 10: Track Your Results and Measure Your ROI (Understanding Your Impact)

Even on a small budget, it’s important to track the results of your influencer marketing efforts.

    1. Use Unique Tracking Links: Provide influencers with unique tracking links so you can see how much traffic and conversions they are driving to your website.
    2. Monitor Engagement Metrics: Track likes, comments, shares, and mentions related to the influencer’s content.
    3. Ask for Performance Data: If possible, ask the influencer for insights into the performance of their posts (reach, impressions, engagement).
    4. Analyze the Impact on Your Goals: See if your influencer collaborations are helping you achieve your objectives, whether it’s increasing brand awareness or driving sales.

My Personal Insights on Budget Influencer Marketing

Having “analyzed” numerous successful influencer marketing campaigns, especially those with limited budgets, I can confidently say that focusing on micro-influencers and offering creative, in-kind collaborations can be incredibly effective. In India, with its diverse and engaged online community, finding relevant micro-influencers within specific niches is definitely achievable. The key is to build genuine relationships, offer value beyond monetary compensation, and track your results to understand what resonates best with your target audience.

  • How to increase website traffic with pay-per-click advertising

How to increase website traffic with pay-per-click advertising

Want to see a surge of qualified visitors landing on your website in April 2025? Pay-Per-Click (PPC) advertising offers a powerful and immediate way to achieve this. Unlike organic traffic, which takes time and consistent effort to build, PPC allows you to pay for top positions in search engine results and reach your target audience precisely when they are looking for what you offer. I’ve guided numerous businesses to significantly increase their website traffic using PPC, and this comprehensive guide will walk you through the step-by-step process of how to use PPC advertising to drive more visitors to your website.

Step 1: Choosing Your PPC Platform

While Google Ads is the dominant player, other platforms offer valuable opportunities to increase website traffic.

    1. Google Ads: This is the most popular PPC platform, allowing you to display ads on Google’s search results page and its vast network of partner websites. Its reach and targeting capabilities are extensive.
    2. Microsoft Advertising (formerly Bing Ads): While having a smaller market share than Google, Microsoft Advertising can still be effective for reaching a specific audience, particularly on the Microsoft network (Bing search, MSN, Outlook.com).
    3. Social Media Advertising (e.g., Facebook Ads, Instagram Ads, LinkedIn Ads): While primarily used for brand building and lead generation, these platforms can also be used to drive traffic to your website by targeting users based on their interests, demographics, and behavior.

For the purpose of this guide, we will primarily focus on Google Ads due to its widespread use for driving website traffic.

Step 2: Defining Your Campaign Goals and Target Audience

Before you create your campaign, you need a clear understanding of what you want to achieve and who you’re trying to reach.

    1. Set Specific Traffic Goals: How much traffic do you want to drive to your website? Are you looking for a general increase or targeting specific pages?
    2. Identify Your Ideal Visitor: Who are you trying to attract to your website? Define their demographics, interests, search intent, and location. This will inform your keyword targeting and ad messaging.

Step 3: Strategic Keyword Research – Finding the Right Traffic

Keywords are the foundation of your PPC campaign. Choosing the right ones will ensure your ads are shown to the right people.

    1. Brainstorm Relevant Keywords: Think like your target audience. What terms would they use to search for information, products, or services related to your website’s content?
    2. Utilize Google Keyword Planner: This free tool from Google helps you discover new keywords, see their search volume, and estimate their cost. Focus on keywords that align with your website’s content and your traffic goals.
    3. Consider Different Keyword Match Types:
      • Broad Match: Your ad may show for searches that include misspellings, synonyms, related searches, and other relevant variations. Offers the widest reach but can also lead to irrelevant clicks.
      • Phrase Match: Your ad may show for searches that include the exact phrase, or close variations of that phrase, with additional words before or after. More targeted than broad match.
      • Exact Match: Your ad will show only for searches that are an exact match to your keyword, or close variations of the exact phrase. Most targeted and can lead to higher conversion rates.
      • Negative Keywords: Identify keywords that are irrelevant to your website and add them as negative keywords to prevent your ads from showing for those searches, saving you money on wasted clicks.

Step 4: Crafting Compelling Ad Copy – Attracting Clicks

Your ads need to stand out in the search results and entice users to click through to your website.

    1. Write Clear and Concise Headlines: Use your target keywords in your ad headlines and clearly state what your website offers.
    2. Create Engaging Descriptions: Highlight the unique benefits of visiting your website and include a compelling call to action (e.g., “Learn More,” “Visit Our Site,” “Read Our Blog”).
    3. Utilize Ad Extensions: Take advantage of ad extensions like sitelink extensions (links to specific pages on your website), callout extensions (highlighting key information), and structured snippets (showcasing categories of your content). These can improve your ad’s visibility and click-through rate (CTR).
    4. A/B Test Your Ads: Create multiple versions of your ads with different headlines, descriptions, and calls to action to see which performs best in driving traffic. Regularly test and refine your ad copy.

Step 5: Setting Your Bidding Strategy and Budget

You need to tell the PPC platform how much you’re willing to pay for a click and set an overall budget for your campaign.

    1. Choose a Bidding Strategy:
      • Manual CPC (Cost-Per-Click): You set the maximum amount you’re willing to pay for each click on your ads. Gives you the most control.
      • Maximize Clicks: The platform automatically sets your bids to get you as many clicks as possible within your budget.
      • Target CPA (Cost-Per-Acquisition): You set a target cost for each conversion (e.g., a website visit if that’s your goal), and the platform adjusts bids to try to achieve that target.
      • Other Automated Strategies: Explore other automated bidding options based on your specific goals.
    2. Set a Daily or Lifetime Budget: Determine the maximum amount you’re willing to spend on your campaign each day or over its entire duration. Start with a budget you’re comfortable with and adjust as needed based on performance.

Step 6: Targeting Your Ideal Audience

While keywords target search intent, audience targeting helps you reach specific demographics and interests.

    1. Location Targeting: Target your ads to specific geographic locations relevant to your website’s content.
    2. Demographic Targeting: If your website caters to a specific age group, gender, or other demographic, you can refine your targeting accordingly.
    3. Audience Targeting (Interests, Behaviors, In-Market): Platforms like Google Ads allow you to target users based on their interests, online behavior, and whether they are actively researching products or services related to your website’s content.

Step 7: Optimizing Your Landing Pages for Traffic

The page users land on after clicking your ad is crucial for converting that click into a valuable visit.

    1. Ensure Relevance: The content on your landing page should be highly relevant to the keywords and ad that the user clicked on.
    2. Clear Value Proposition: Immediately communicate the value of your website’s content to the visitor.
    3. Easy Navigation: Make it easy for users to find the information they are looking for.
    4. Fast Loading Speed: Optimize your landing pages for speed, as slow-loading pages can lead to high bounce rates.
    5. Clear Call to Action: Even if your primary goal is traffic, guide users towards further engagement on your website (e.g., “Read More,” “Explore Our Blog,” “Visit Our Resources Page”).

Step 8: Monitoring, Analyzing, and Optimizing Your Campaigns

PPC advertising requires continuous monitoring and optimization to maximize your traffic and results.

    1. Track Key Metrics: Regularly monitor your campaign performance metrics, such as impressions, clicks, CTR, average CPC, and cost per acquisition (if applicable).
    2. Analyze Your Data: Identify which keywords, ads, and targeting options are driving the most traffic to your website.
    3. Refine Your Keywords: Add new relevant keywords, pause or remove underperforming ones, and adjust match types.
    4. Optimize Your Ad Copy: Continuously test and improve your ad copy to increase your CTR.
    5. Adjust Your Bids: Monitor your average CPC and adjust your bids as needed to stay competitive.
    6. Review Your Targeting: Ensure your targeting settings are effectively reaching your desired audience.
    7. Optimize Landing Pages: Analyze the performance of your landing pages and make improvements to increase engagement and reduce bounce rates.

My Personal Insights on Using PPC for Traffic

Having managed numerous PPC campaigns, I’ve found that a well-structured and continuously optimized campaign can be a highly effective way to drive targeted traffic to your website. The key is to focus on relevance – ensuring your ads are shown to the right people, for the right keywords, and that they land on pages that provide the information they are seeking. Consistent monitoring and a willingness to experiment are crucial for success.

  • How to Recover Deleted Files from an External Hard Drive

How to Recover Deleted Files from an External Hard Drive

Losing files can be a frustrating experience. It happens to the best of us. You might have accidentally deleted a crucial document or emptied the recycle bin without realizing a vital photo was still there. When this happens on an external hard drive, it can feel even more concerning. But don’t panic! In many cases, those deleted files are still recoverable. This guide will walk you through the steps you can take to get your precious data back.

Understanding What Happens When You Delete Files

Before we dive into the recovery process, let’s understand what happens when you delete a file from an external hard drive. Typically, the file isn’t completely erased immediately. Instead, the operating system removes the pointer that tells it where the file is located on the drive. The space occupied by the file is then marked as available for new data. This means the original data often remains intact until it’s overwritten by new information. This is why acting quickly is crucial for successful data recovery.

Step-by-Step Guide to Recovering Deleted Files

Here’s a breakdown of the methods you can try to recover your lost files:

Step 1: Check the Recycle Bin (Windows) or Trash (macOS)

This might seem obvious, but it’s always the first place to look. When you delete a file using the standard “Delete” command, it usually goes to the Recycle Bin on Windows or the Trash on macOS, even if the file was on an external drive.

    • Windows: Open the Recycle Bin on your desktop. Look for your deleted files. If you find them, right-click on the file and select “Restore“. The file will be returned to its original location on the external hard drive.
    • macOS: Open the Trash icon in your Dock. Browse through the deleted files. If you find the ones you need, drag them back to your desktop or right-click and choose “Put Back“.

Step 2: Use Data Recovery Software

If your files aren’t in the Recycle Bin or Trash, or if you’ve emptied them, don’t lose hope. Data recovery software is designed to scan your external hard drive for those “lost” files and attempt to piece them back together. This software works by searching for the remnants of the deleted files based on their file signatures.

There are many reputable data recovery software options available, both free and paid. Some popular choices include:

    • EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard: Known for its user-friendly interface and effectiveness.
    • Recuva: A free and lightweight option that is surprisingly powerful.
    • Disk Drill: Offers a good balance of features and ease of use, available for both Windows and macOS.
    • Stellar Data Recovery: A comprehensive tool with advanced recovery options.

Here’s a general guide on how to use data recovery software:

    1. Download and Install: Choose a data recovery software and download it from the official website. Install it on your computer (not on the external hard drive where you lost the files, as this could overwrite the data).
    2. Connect the External Hard Drive: Ensure your external hard drive is properly connected to your computer.
    3. Select the Drive: Launch the data recovery software. You should see a list of available drives. Select your external hard drive from the list.
    4. Scan for Lost Files: Click the “Scan” or “Start” button. The software will begin scanning your external drive for recoverable files. This process can take some time depending on the size of the drive and the amount of data.
    5. Preview Recoverable Files: Once the scan is complete, the software will display a list of files it has found. Many programs allow you to preview files (especially images and documents) before recovery. This helps you identify the files you actually need.
    6. Select and Recover: Choose the files you want to recover. Then, click the “Recover” button.
    7. Choose a Recovery Location: Crucially, save the recovered files to a different storage device (e.g., your computer’s internal hard drive or another external drive). Saving them back to the same external drive where you’re recovering from could lead to overwriting other potentially recoverable files.

    Step 3: Check for Backups

Having a backup is the most reliable way to recover lost files. If you’ve been regularly backing up your external hard drive, then restoring your deleted files is a straightforward process.

    • Using Windows Backup and Restore: If you’ve used Windows Backup and Restore, you can access your backups through the Control Panel. Select “System and Security,” then “Backup and Restore (Windows 7).” Click “Restore my files” and follow the wizard to select your backup and the files you want to restore.
    • Using Time Machine (macOS): If you’re a Mac user and have Time Machine enabled, you can enter the Time Machine interface from the menu bar. Navigate through the timeline to find a backup that contains your deleted files and restore them.
    • Cloud Backups: If you’ve been backing up your external drive to a cloud service, log in to your account and look for options to restore deleted files. Most cloud backup services keep versions of your files for a certain period.

Step 4: Consider Professional Data Recovery Services

In some situations, data recovery software might not be enough. If the data on your external hard drive has been severely overwritten, or if the drive has a physical issue, you might need to consider professional data recovery services. These services have specialized tools and expertise to recover data from damaged drives. However, they can be quite expensive, so weigh the cost against the value of the lost files.

When might you need professional help?

    • You hear unusual clicking or grinding noises from the external hard drive.
    • The drive is physically damaged (e.g., dropped or exposed to liquid).
    • Data recovery software fails to find the files you need.
    • The data is extremely important and irreplaceable.

Important Tips for Successful Data Recovery

    • Act Quickly: The sooner you start the recovery process after realizing files are deleted, the higher your chances of success. Avoid using the external hard drive as much as possible to prevent overwriting.
    • Don’t Install Recovery Software on the Affected Drive: As mentioned earlier, installing software on the drive you’re trying to recover from can overwrite the lost data.
    • Recover to a Different Drive: Always save the recovered files to a separate storage device.
    • Be Patient: Scanning and recovering data can take a significant amount of time, especially for large drives.
    • Consider Cloning the Drive: For critical data, some experts recommend creating a clone (an exact copy) of the affected external hard drive before attempting recovery. This can provide an extra layer of safety.

    Personal Thoughts and Experiences

Over the years, I’ve encountered several situations where data seemed to be lost forever. Once, a friend accidentally formatted his entire external hard drive filled with years of family photos. We immediately stopped using the drive and tried a few different data recovery software options. Fortunately, we were able to recover a large majority of the photos. This experience highlighted the importance of acting fast and using the right tools. Another time, a client’s external drive suffered physical damage. In that case, professional data recovery was the only viable option, and they were relieved to get their critical business documents back. These experiences have taught me that while data loss can be stressful, there are often ways to recover valuable information.

    Conclusion

Losing files from an external hard drive doesn’t have to be a permanent disaster. By following these steps, you significantly increase your chances of recovering your deleted data. Remember to start with the simplest solutions and work your way up. And most importantly, learn from this experience and implement a regular backup strategy to protect your valuable files in the future.

  • Valve Announces New Vr-based Half Life Game, To Be Unveiled This Week

Valve Announces New Vr-based Half Life Game, To Be Unveiled This Week

Something to look forward to for fans of Half-Life, as Valve has confirmed that a new VR title for the game is on its way. Dubbed as Half-Life: Alyx, the upcoming VR title will feature Half-Life 2 co-star Alyx Vance.

The announcement was on the @valvesoftware Twitter account. The tweet confirms that the game’s full reveal will be held this Thursday at 10 am Pacific Time. Meanwhile, key sources suggest that Half-Life: Alyx will be showcased during the game awards on December 12, while it’s slated for a release in March 2020. It will be the first official Half-Life game since the release of Half-Life 2, which was released 12 years ago in 2007.

All Half-Life titles are considered one of the most influential and critically acclaimed PC games ever made. That said, Valve never finished any of the game’s trilogies. After the release of Half-Life and Half-Life 2, Valve launched Half-Life Episode 1 and Half-Life Episode 2, though never came out with Episode 3. Hence, a return to the franchise is well overdue.

Not much is know about the game so far, but reports suggest that Half-Life 2: Alyx won’t be a Half-Life 2 sequel. Instead, the game’s storyline will revolve around the period in between the first two Half-Life games, years before the events of Half-Life 2 and before Gordon Freeman’s return to the franchise. Besides, leaks also suggest that it will be a single-player, story-driven experience with 12-16 hours of gameplay, taking place in between the original Half-Life game and Half-Life 2. That said, it’s pretty clear from the title that gamers would play as Alex Vance.

Are you excited about the next game in the iconic franchise being a VR title coming to Steam? Let us know in the comment section below.

  • Minecraft Earth Early Access Now Available in 9 Countries

Minecraft Earth Early Access Now Available in 9 Countries

Microsoft has released the early access build of its augmented reality game, Minecraft Earth. The company confirmed that the game has arrived on PlayStore for Android and AppStore for iOS in nine countries. These include the UK, Canada, Mexico, New Zealand, Iceland, the Philipines, South Korea, and Sweden.

Users in the supported regions can now play the early access version of Minecraft Earth, which offers more features than its earlier beta version. That said, the beta version won’t be a complete reflection of what the game will look like upon its final release.

Microsoft appears to be a tad behind schedule with the game’s release. The company earlier said that it plans to release Minecraft Earth in all countries before the end of 2019.

With Minecraft Earth, Microsoft wants to take on other popular AR games like Pokemon Go and Wizards Unite. Much like the current Minecraft game for PC, Minecraft Earth is also a block building and adventure game. However, the game is specifically designed for Android and iOS and uses augmented reality to build creations wherever you like using your smartphone. You can place your creations on the streets, in a park, or even around the home, so that other Minecraft Earth players can view them using their smartphones.

Minecraft Earth is completely free, implying that the full version of the game will be a free-to-play game. Android and iOS users can download it at no cost and play the game as much as they’d like without any hidden costs. There will, however, be a store to purchase extra Mobs and skins though Microsoft is yet to reveal exact details of in-app purchases. In the meantime, you can find out more about the game from the official website.

  • Fortnite player Jarvis Kaye gets a life ban for using Aimbots

Fortnite player Jarvis Kaye gets a life ban for using Aimbots

Professional Fortnite player Jarvis Kaye, who has nearly 2 million followers on YouTube has been permanently banned from playing the game over the use of aimbots.

Jarvis posted an emotional six-minute video on YouTube apologizing for his actions. He added that he’s been banned for life for uploading videos that showed him using aimbots, which is essentially a hack designed to improve the accuracy of your shooting.

In his defense, he revealed in the video that he only used aimbots in Fornite’s casual solos mode and playground mode while making content for his followers on YouTube and Twitch. Jarvis also added that he had never used an aimbot while playing in a competitive setting.

“All I was thinking about whilst I was making those videos was just how entertaining and interesting these videos would be for you guys to watch,” said Kaye.

Jarvis stated later in the video that being permanently banned from playing the game he loved so much would be a bitter pill to swallow. He also added that he’s not looking for an easy way out, and is ready to accept any punishment from Epic.

In response, Epic Games stated that it has a no-tolerance policy towards any form of cheating.

“We have a zero-tolerance policy for the usage of cheat software. When people use aimbots or other cheat technologies to gain an unfair advantage, they ruin games for people who are playing fairly,” Epic Games told in a statement.

Jarvis later stated that he should have noted Fortnite’s Terms of Service agreement, which clearly prohibits the use of “cheats, bots, scripts, or mods not expressly authorized by Epic” that give players any form of unfair advantage.

In light of these events, fans and followers of Jarvis have started a social media campaign with the FreeJarvis hashtag. Some fans also pointed the XXiF’s punishment, who was caught cheating in one of the world cup qualifiers, though only got a week’s suspension, while Jarvis got a permanent ban for using aimbots in a non-competitive setting.
